[upcoming] july 2013 – august 2013: digitizing audiovisual materials from the doris duke collections, housed within the david m. rubenstein rare book & manuscript library at duke university. working under the supervision of audiovisual archivist craig breaden.

may 2013 to present: project archivist at the duke university medical center archives. working under the supervision of dawne lucas, head of technical services. performing a second phase of arrangement and description of the c. j. lambertsen papers.

november 2012 to present: audiovisual collections assistant/intern at the david m. rubenstein rare book & manuscript library at duke university.  performing technical processing and description of audiovisual collections, primarily materials related to the jazz loft project. working under the supervision of audiovisual archivist craig breaden to coordinate media transfers with the duke digital production center, process oral history transcripts and tapes, and assist with outreach efforts and web content creation related to audiovisual collections.

may 2013: music library reorganization project for at the perlman music program.  contracted to perform technical processing, description, and cataloging of musical scores for the perlman music program library on shelter island, ny. reformatted, edited, added metadata to, and created a new user interface for the existing catalog. weeded collections, developed and implemented a new in-house classification system, and rehoused over 850 scores. designed check-out, accession, cataloging, and processing workflows for future use. project completed in collaboration with d. edward davis.

june 2012 to october 2012: project archivist at the duke university medical center archives. worked under the supervision of dawne lucas, head of technical services. performed initial arrangement and description of the c. j. lambertsen papers.

june 2012 to july 2012: volunteer exhibitions assistant at duke university libraries. worked under the supervision of meg brown, exhibits coordinator for duke university libraries. performed exhibition research and created online exhibition components using omeka.

june 2011 to may 2012:  the drill archives internship at the university archives within the david m. rubenstein rare book & manuscript library at duke university. worked under the supervision of kim sims, the technical services archivist. primary focus was technical processing of archival collections and generating accession records for incoming acquisitions. co-curated “from campus to cockpit: duke during world war ii” which was on view until late january 2012.  other projects include generating a inventory of sports information materials and developing a LibGuide for visual materials in the University Archives holdings, establishing/maintaining social media, surveying collection control files, and reference/research cross-training. internship funded by the isobel craven drill endowment for the university archives.

july 2011 to may 2012
:  volunteer archivist at the sallie bingham center for women’s history and culture within the david m. rubenstein rare book & manuscript library at duke university. assessed, arranged and rehoused for various and sundry zine collections including the dwayne dixon zine collection and the bingham center women’s zine collection. created and updated finding aids for collections processed.

august 2005 to may 2011: office and operations manager for the illustration program, parsons the new school for design. duties included: handling all day-to-day clerical, operational, & facilities-based issues, establishing/maintaining the program’s social media presence via WordPress, Facebook, Twitter, & Flickr, hiring, training, & supervising student workers, helping track budgetary expenditures & develop curricular schedules, coordinating and overseeing programmatic event planning including symposia, guest lectures, workshops.

january 2011 to may 2011: processing archivist internship in the museum archives at the metropolitan museum of art, under the supervision of managing archivist james moske. projects included: performing physical processing, rehousing, & arrangement for collections that include 19th c. financial records, implementing MPLP & using archivists’ toolkit to create accession & resource records for unprocessed collections and using an excel database to generate an inventory of historical records held by the exhibitions office.

june 2010 to may 2011: processing archivist internship in the fales library and special collections at new york university under the supervision of senior archivist lisa darms. projects included: processing of multiple archival collections including rehousing, arrangement, simple conservation treatments, cataloging of media, & creation of finding aids using archivists’ toolkit and working with collections—like the guerrilla girls archive & several accessions in the riot grrrl collection—that included a variety of materials including photography, film, ephemera, & other media.
